
HMD Global, the largest European smartphone manufacturer, has announced another major milestone: attaining a very impressive Platinum EcoVadis 2023 Sustainability Rating for the second year in a row. The Finland-based company is in the top 1% of businesses and 98% of companies audited for their commitment to sustainable practices in the manufacturing of communications equipment.

The new milestone by HMD follows closely on the recent announcement of its transition to a new multi-brand portfolio strategy, in which the company would begin selling its own branded mobile phones in future. “I am thrilled to announce a significant milestone in HMD’s evolution – we are establishing an original HMD brand. You can expect to see a new portfolio of HMD branded mobile devices, as well as Nokia devices and collaboration with exciting new partners.
