BCA Leadership, Africa’s largest leadership enhancement organization, in partnership with the Kenya Private Sector Alliance (KEPSA) and Strathmore School of Business, is set to host the 2024 edition of the Made in Africa Leadership Conference (MLC).
The conference will be held under the theme “Making Africa Work for Africans: Bold Actions for Bold Results“. The forum is expected to ignite discussions and inspire action towards cultivating exemplary leadership across the African continent. Scheduled for June 12 – 13, 2024, in Nairobi, this year’s event promises to be a transformative gathering of thought leaders, innovators, and change-makers from diverse sectors.

MLC 2024 aims to tackle pressing issues, foster collaboration, and showcase Africa’s potential for leadership excellence. The conference will feature a dynamic lineup of speakers, peer learning labs, and industrial site visits for exemplary and innovative indigenous Kenyan businesses. Through its highly sought-after Needs and Leads sessions, the conference will offer networking opportunities designed to empower attendees with the relevant contacts for potential partnerships.
Catherine Musakali, the founder of Women on Boards Network and a Board Member of BCA Leadership, expressed her delight to finally host the Made in Africa Leadership Conference in Kenya. Having participated in previous editions of the conference in Ghana and Zambia, Ms Musakali anticipates the conference and looks forward to the bold commitments that will be made by conference attendees to catalyze positive transformation in Africa.
Speaking at the press launch at Strathmore University, Dr Modupe Taylor-Pearce, CEO and co-founder of BCA Leadership stressed the need for African leaders in both public, private and not for profit sectors to be intentional about taking their regular doses of leadership vitamins through learning from peers and receiving coaching. These two vitamins, he said, will help leaders avoid making sub-optimal decisions that eventually go to impact the organizations negatively.
Dr Vincent Ogutu, the VC of Strathmore University, expressed his delight at the opportunity for Strathmore University to partner with BCA Leadership to address the leadership gaps in Africa.
Representing KEPSA, John Ngonjo, the Vice Chair for the alliance’s Energy Board stressed on the importance of good leadership and its impact on individuals, families, and the overall society. He encouraged the members of KEPSA to participate in the conference to learn from other leaders from other markets who will be attending the conference.
As Africa continues to undergo rapid transformation and development, the importance of effective leadership cannot be overstated. The Made in Africa Leadership Conference catalyzes driving positive change and fostering a new generation of visionary leaders who are dedicated to shaping Africa to become a middle-income continent by 2030.
